Found Photos

Today i've been in the dark room printing a few of then negs, It managed to stir up a few emotions when i recognized my late grandfather in one of the images. i never knew him, because he passed away when i was a child. but it made me wonder what he was like an silly things like whether he'd be proud of the choices i've made. the image below is a portrait of him.

He was neg No 26. (i found this bunch of negatives in a small pouch/ folder thing each sleeve has numbers on.) I also did a contact sheet and printed of an image of a girl who is still a mystery to me. the contact sheet can be seen below.

next i plan to print another 7 contact sheets because that will cover all 95 negs in the pouch including the one above. this means first sorting them into 8 groups.

I think its time to get into a habit of updating this blog. since my last blog i have,

completed a video as a group using someone else's footage. i don't think the video was as good as it could have been but it was a mix of not knowing what to do with it and lack of time to experiment with it.

Had a tutorial where we spoke about what i could do for my project.

in the tutorial it was suggested that i look into Appropriated Photography, i could focus on the passing of time, view them from a different point of view. focus on the fact that for the moment the people in the photos are a mystery to me.

And i began to consider what i can do with the inherited photos. i thinking about first sorting through the images an printing images im interested in. i could then experiment. but im still not certain.

im hoping to get a few of those photos printed an to be well on my way through this project as soon as possible.

First Blog.

This is my first Blog and first time blogging.

Im hoping to record my uni work and creative experiments. This year i hope to keep on top of the work given because last year i was complacent and got quite lazy. I don't want to be rushing things this year.

This weekend I plan to have written down my ideas, sort through the photos for transitional spaces and my be re-shoot a few of them.
